Eligibility Criteria for New Tax Deductions on Interest
Here are a few of the eligibility requirements for the new tax deduction on new vehicle financing:
- Made in America: Final assembly must be in the U.S. verified through VINs (starts with 1, 4, or 5)
- Income Limits: Single filers with modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) less than $150,000 and joint filers less than $250,000 qualify for up to a $10,000 deduction
- Original Use: Personal use only and financed by the taxpayer
- Expiration: Applies to vehicles financed December 31, 2024 through the 2028 tax year
